WEEK 21 PREGNANCY UPDATES

It’s amazing how much my belly grows since week 18 to now at 21 week. Now it is really big and visible. But also I am very happy that I can still wear some of my summer dresses. Like this black dress, one of my favorite dress. I can still wear it and the belly doesn’t even look huge at 21 weeks pregnant. Here’s a quick pregancy update at week 21.

21 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY UPDATE

August 13- 19

On August 13, we had another appointment. I was 21+2 weeks and weigh 52,15kg. I have gained 3 kilos so far the beginning of the pregnancy. We heard the baby’s heartbeat and saw the baby once again on the screen. It was really nice. The nurse explained to me everything about maternity benefits such as; maternity leave, maternity grant, and maternity allowance. When do I start my maternity leave, parental leave and also when Meu can have his own paternity leave and parental leave. It feels so good to know that I can avail all these benefits. I also feel lucky that I have a permanent job and I get bigger benefits because of that.

I am 21 weeks pregnant now, which means in 1-2 weeks I will be in my six months of pregnancy. Time goes really fast. Only a few months left until I start my maternity leave. My leave will start for 4 weeks (30 days) before my due date. My due date is December 22. And my maternity will start on November 16th. I am thinking to have the baby shower on the last week of October. I am worried I might be so tired in November. Also, the weather gets colder and darker in November, so I guess October it is for the baby shower.

HOW I FEEL AND PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS

TIREDNESS

I usually feel very tired after my work shift. When I have morning shift I make sure that I take a nap for 1-2 hours as soon as I get home and after I eat. I got used to sleeping late though around midnight which I have to change it now. It’s back to school for Yanna and summer holiday is over and it’s time to go back to the old routine. Sleep early and wake up early. I know another reason that I get so tired during the day is also that I sleep very late at night and need to wake up before 6. So, I really need to change that bad habit.

HAPPY AND EXCITED

Now that there’s no more morning sickness, I feel really happy. I am enjoying this pregnancy so much and really happy about it. I am so excited to have this baby in my arms. I feel the baby’s movements all the time and cannot wait to see it from the outside too. I am also loving my growing belly. Now that I look really “pregnant”. Not just a lady with a fatty belly like I was before. :)

WORRIED A LITTLE

My work is physical, although it is not so hard as much as it was before. Fewer residents now so it’s not that busy anymore. Also, we do the job with pairs which is good. However, it can sometimes be so heavy for me. Some days were really bad, some are easy days. I am worried I may be too tired and could harm the baby or me. But like the nurse said, if I feel really bad then I need to call them and I don’t have to go to work. So far, I can still handle it. Still enjoying my job and it is good for me that I keep moving during the day. As long as I know my limitations. My co-workers have been so understanding and caring which makes me really happy.
